Greece: Future Library

During 2011, MDR is working as part of a team led by the Public Library of Veria, under a grant by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation to create a feasibility report based on a comprehensive examination and analysis of the current status of Greece's public and municipal libraries and their public services. The purpose of the feasibility report is to determine whether there exists the potential for the future transformation of selected libraries into unique centers for creativity, innovation and learning.

Future Library was established in 2009, by Veria Central Public Library, and currently connects librarians and professionals from cultural organizations from all over the country and serves as a platform for communication, training, problem sharing and solving.
