MDR is a leading specialist partnership working together with libraries, archives, museums, information providers, and other organisations in the cultural heritage, egovernment and education sectors. Its services include research, consultancy, training, project management and implementation, service development and technical support. It has a strong track record in the creation of new projects and in establishing partnerships and networks to work with funding bodies of many kinds. It works at a strategic level in the context of initiatives such as the European Digital Library and the European Directive on Public Sector Information re-use, impact assessment and performance benchmarking.

Through LIDA, MDR supports and partners programmes and projects in a wide range of developing countries and emerging economies. Activities are designed and adapted to promote and enhance the management, content and use of library and information resources.
